Anne Marie Sette

Anne Marie Sette, 91, of Christ the King Manor, formally of Ridgway, died on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Penn Highlands Dubois after a lengthy illness.

She was born on November 26, 1931, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Clyde and Catherine Verbeck Piccirillo.

At St. Leos Magnus Church she married Patsy Sette, who preceded her in death after 55 years of marriage.

Anne Marie was a graduate of St. Leos High School and received her Nursing degree from Canisius College and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo. She also received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing from Villa Marie College in Erie. Anne Marie was certified in Expectant Parents Education from Maternity Center, New York, NY and Lennox Hill Hospital in conjunction with Columbia University.

Anne Marie was self employed with her husband for many years running their Italian Bakery. She was also employed at Mercy Hospital Neo-Natal unit Buffalo, NY and Elk County General Hospital Obstetrics, Ridgway, PA., Millcreek Community Hospital Erie, Pa. Obstetrics and as Maternal Child Health coordinator where she was instrumental in organizing the ABC’s of childbirth and Newborn classes for expecting parents. Also volunteered her time to teach childbirth preparation and newborn care classes at the Florence Crittenton Home for single mothers.

Anne Marie was a member of St. Leo Magnus Church and had been a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church for many years. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Erie, Pa #515 for which she served as officer and chairman of several committees, she transferred to St. Leo’s Catholic Daughters of America in 2018. She also belonged to St. Leo Magnus Alumni Association and Mercy Hospital Alumni Association.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Joseph Piccirillo and his wife Maxine of Ridgway and Donald Piccirillo and his wife Carnith of Ridgway. She is also survived my several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anne Marie Sette will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Leo Magnus Catholic Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Fr. Justin Pino as celebrant.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at St. Leos Magnus Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery
