Elizabeth J. "Betty" Moyer

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Moyer, 95, of Kersey, went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

She was born on September 23, 1928, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Helen C. Verostek Izbinski.

On December 4, 1952, at St. Marys Presbyterian Church, she married the late Ralph L. Moyer, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2001.

Betty graduated from St. Leo’s School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was an active member of the Toby United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Toby United Methodist Women's Society.  Betty was also very active in the Valley Grange and served in several positions over the year, this led to her years of volunteering at the Elk County Fair. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was willing to take care of not only her family but other children from the community.

She is survived by three children; Lois Kline and her husband Chuck, Cheryl Marlene Glantz and her husband John, and Bradley Moyer, all of Kersey, three grandchildren; Troy Kline (Crystal), Brad Moyer (Jackie), and Joshua Moyer, and six great-grandchildren, Charles, Keegan, Madison, Emma, Alex, and Mason.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Izbinski, and a beloved grandson, Travis Kline. Betty was the last surviving member of her family.

A Celebration of Life for Elizabeth J. Moyer will held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Toby United Methodist Church, 416 Toby Road, Kersey, PA, 15846, with Rev. Ann Foor officiating.

Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Toby United Methodist Church.
