Geraldine J. Runyan

Geraldine June Runyan, 81, of Coal Hollow, Kersey Pa. passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. 

Geraldine was born November 9, 1942, in Kersey, a daughter of the late Walter and Edna Fredrickson Geer. 

On November 7, 1959, in Brockway, she married Melvin E. Runyan of Kersey, who survives. Together they shared almost 65 years of love and marriage.

Geraldine leaves behind her husband Melvin, a daughter; Cindy (Ken) Duffee, and three sons; Robert (Cindy) Runyan, Danny (Beth) Runyan, and Randy (Lisa) Runyan. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a sister; Diane Northrop.

Geraldine loved her family and had compassion and love for stray dogs and cats. She enjoyed social times with friends, camping, and crafting. 

A memorial service for Geraldine J. Runyan will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Krise Funeral Home, 339 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 with her daughter, Rev. Cindy Duffee officiating. 

Burial will take place in the Maria Lutheran Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at the Krise Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Donations in Geraldine's memory may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, the Ridgway Animal Haven, or to the Penn Highlands Community Nurses.
