Gretchen H. Rhoads

Gretchen H. Rhoads, 74, of Ridgway, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on April 17, 1950, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Isaac L. and Phyllis J. McKay Smith.

Gretchen was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from St. Marys High School, class of 1969. She found joy in spending time with loved ones, nurturing her beloved dogs, immersing herself in the tranquility of fishing, and tending to her vibrant garden.

She is survived by her companion of 30 years, David Lewis of Ridgway, 8 siblings: Clara O’Dell of Kersey, Heidi Slottje and her husband Jan of Nevada, Lawrence Smith and his wife Melissa of Kersey, Brigid Krishart and her husband Bob of St. Marys, LeRoy Smith and his wife Jean of Kersey, Nannette Oaks of St. Marys, Daniel Smith and his wife Patty of Virginia, and Christopher Smith of St. Marys, a special nephew, Preston Miller of Ridgway, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Philip Egen.

A Memorial Service for Gretchen H. Rhoads will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853.

Family and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
