Jack E. Lipsey

Jack E. Lipsey, 80, of Lipsey Lane, Kersey, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Penn Highlands Elk following a brief illness.

He was born on June 12, 1943 in Kersey, PA, a son of the late John and Twila Sidelinger Lipsey. 

On June 27, 1964, at Queen of the World Church, he married Linda Herzing Lipsey, who survives. Together they shared more than 59 years together.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Kersey and member of St. Boniface Church.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964 and retired from St. Marys Carbon Company after more than 35 years of service.  He was a proud and dedicated member of the Fox Township Firemen's, having been active with the Fire Police for more than 35 years.  He was also a member of the Dagus Mines Legion.  Jack will be remembered as a good husband, father, and grandfather who could often be found tinkering in his garage.

In addition to his wife, Linda, of 59 years, he is survived by three children; Terry (Cheryl) Lipsey of Sandwich, IL, Tim (Tori) Lipsey of Kersey, and Tammy (Russ) Krise of Kersey; and by 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by a brother; Mark (Joyce) Mosier of Kersey as well as by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings; Thomas, Raymond, Bruce, Michael, Faye, Ann, and Karen, as well as by two grandchildren; TJ Lipsey and Ashley Lipsey, and by two stepfathers; Jim McCluskey, and Robert Mosier.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Jack E. Lipsey will be celebrated on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 with Fr. Kevin Holland, Pastor, officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Fox Township Burial Detail.

Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at St. Boniface Church on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fox Township Fire Department.
