Joyce Ann Coward, 79, of 3647 Rasselas Road, Wilcox, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Snyder Memorial Health Care Center in Marienville.

She was born on January 10, 1942 in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor Brechtel Galsick. She was a graduate of Johnsonbug High School, class of 1959.
On June 11, 1960 in Rasselas, she married Robert W. Coward who preceded her in death on August 9, 2006. Together they shared more than 46 years of love, laughter, and happiness.
Joyce spent most of her life as a homemaker, caring for her family and her home. After her family was raised, she took a position as a nursing assistant at the Kane Lutheran Home until her retirement to care for her husband. Over the years, she played the guitar, piano, and organ. She was the organist for Holy Cross Church in Rasselas for many years. She also sang beautifully, often accompanied by her daughter, Robin. She loved reading, gardening, and hunting. She was also an avid painter who enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
She is survived by five children; Robin (Bryan) Anthony of Knox, Shelly (Alan) Lingenfelter of Kane, Donna (Randy) DeMarco of Marienville, Robert (Cheryl) Coward of Wilcox, and Paul (Mary) Coward of Mogadore, OH, by ten grandchildren; Courtney Dase, Andrew Coward, Daniel (Monica) Williams, Logan (Jeremy) Carmichael, Jena (Ryan) Troupe, Shane Cotterman, Leandra DeMarco, Allison DeMarco, Shania (Chris) Peelish, and Charlie Coward, and by one great-granchild; Brynlee Troupe. She is also survived by one brother; David (Peg) Galsick of Wilcox.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; James Galsick.
Funeral and Committal Services for Joyce A. Coward are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Rasselas.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society or to a favorite charity.
