Samuel L. Kinkead, 91, of German Settlement Road, died on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Penn Highlands Elk.

He was born on July 27, 1932, in Ridgway, a son of the late William and Ada Brocklehurst Kinkead.

On July 29, 1955, he married the former Kathryn “Kay” Harbridge, who preceded him in death on January 12, 2023.

Sam was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where he was an usher for over 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was employed at National Fuel Gas Company for 47 years but became his happiest after retirement. During retirement he was a faithful caregiver for the Ridgway Cemeteries and a member of the Ridgway Cemetery Association.

Samuel is survived by his 3 children: Diane Stenta and her husband Ron of Ridgway, Douglas Kinkead and his wife Linda of Ridgway, and David Kinkead and his wife Karen of NC, 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Martha, and a brother Gerald.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Jr., and a son at birth, Donald.

A Memorial Service for Samuel L. Kinkead will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 19 S. Broad St., Ridgway, PA 15853, with Rev. Matthew Williams officiating.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Trinty United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Burial will be at Thayer Cemetery.
